Mashle’s opening was copied in Myanmar
In January, the second season of the anime Mashle premiered, bringing with it the song “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts, which became a hit with various dances on social media. Even those who hadn’t watched the anime started tuning in because of this song! (I know some cases).
You can listen to the song below:
And well, what happens to cool songs that become extremely popular? COPIES!
Mashle’s opening was copied in Myanmar
Directly from Myanmar, a music video emerged about a month ago that left certain otakus from that country embarrassed, and the Japanese ended up finding out.
Released by Thu Kyaw Thu HD Production, the song has a chorus that is very, very similar to Mashle’s opening. Listen to their version below, which already has over 300,000 views:
Going through the comments, you can see some opinions from local people, with some even apologizing to Japan for copying their music:
“I’m leaving Myanmar now.”
“I’m from Myanmar and I’m very annoyed by this. This is total plagiarism. I want you (Japanese) to know that not all of us from Myanmar are like this. We respect everything about Japan: culture, language, tradition, anime, songs, manga.”
Let’s see how some Japanese reacted to the video?
“What kind of MV is this?”
“Plagiarism is common in the music industry, so there’s not much to do about it.”
“Sometimes, plagiarism can even be good.”
“Isn’t this an unauthorized cover?”
“I’m surprised at how direct this is.”
“This is so plagiarized, it’s hilarious.”
“It’s an exact copy.”
“It’s impressive how someone can do something so shameful.”
“Japanese music is finally being plagiarized abroad. How proud.”
