Netflix is set to release a new film on September 14th titled “Once Upon a Crime” (Akazukin, Tabi no Tochuu de Shitai to Deau). And we love to see it!

The movie is an adaptation of Aito Aoyagi’s manga, where Little Red Riding Hood solves crimes in famous fairy tales such as Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel.

Directed by Yuichi Fukuda, the film features a screenplay by the manga’s own author, Aito Aoyagi. The starring roles are played by Kanna Hashimoto as Little Red Riding Hood and Yuko Araki as Cinderella.

Kanna Hashimoto, the film’s star, is a former idol and a member of the Fukuoka-based idol girl group Rev. from DVL from 2011 to 2017. In 2013, Hashimoto stunned Japan with a photo taken during the group’s live performances, earning praise for her natural beauty. She received titles such as “beyond the cute local idol,” “angelic idol,” and “a once-in-a-millennium talent.”

Hashimoto’s charm caused a significant stir on the internet, with the photo post garnering over 550,000 views and temporarily crashing her agency’s official website due to the high number of visitors.

Director Yuichi Fukuda, known for other live-action works like “Gintama” and “Psychic Kusuo,” along with Aito Aoyagi handling the screenplay, ensures that Netflix will undoubtedly deliver a strong adaptation this time around.
