Do not Create Mods that Reveal NAJD Skin

Do not Create Mods that Reveal NAJD Skin

There is a character in the King of Fighters game series named NAJD. She is a character who was introduced to the series in the 14th installment of the franchise, released in 2016.

She is the result of a design contest promoted by SNK (the game’s producer) and Manga Productions. She is a character from Saudi Arabia, and her visual design is created by the artist from the same country, Mashael Al-Barrak.

She has recently been announced for the 15th installment of the franchise, and a tweet became a topic of discussion because…

Commentator Requests: Do not Create Mods that Reveal NAJD Skin!

An apparent SNK game commentator posted a message on their Twitter, requesting those who create mods (mods are fan-made modifications to a game, like alternate outfits) not to create a mod that exposes NAJD’s skin.

The commentator posted:

“KOF modders, Please dont make mods for #KOFXV_NAJD that reveal skin and all that I know shes just a fictional character but shes like, THE ONLY FG muslim representative and she dresses like that cuz of it So yeah, looking forward to all the mods with this in mind!”

The character is fully dressed, as you can see from her design below:

Well, you can probably imagine a good portion of the reactions to this comment, right? To be honest, there are already mods that fully reveal NAJD’s face, exposing her hair and all.

However, what I don’t understand is that 5 years ago, she had already been shown with her hair exposed in an official game video:

Remember that a recent case involved a mod that rendered Chun-Li nude during a Street Fighter tournament. Anyway, let’s see how some people reacted to the request not to create mods that reveal NAJD’s skin:

“Mods are optional.”

“While I really wish people would honor the request, given how the modding community operates, unfortunately, this might be seen as a challenge.”

“KOF modders, do the exact opposite of what this person is saying and create multiple mods showing skin.”

“People might get mad at my opinion, but I don’t care. Mods are optional, period. You can’t tell people what’s off-limits. Don’t like it, don’t install it. It’s as simple as that.”

In the end, this just goes to show how things are on the internet, right?
