AV film makes mistakes in Shogi rules and receives criticism! Be honest, when you watch an AV movie, do you care about other aspects of the production besides the “action”? Generally, AV productions are not known for their top-notch acting, story or production, since it’s all about the “action”.

However, there are people who are really bothered by other aspects of an AV movie other than just the “action”. For example, when we posted about a case involving a SPY x FAMILY-inspired movie, there was someone who complained about the way the AV movie portrayed Yor easily losing to villains.

Well, if you read that post about Yor, today I have another case to share with you.

What happens? The film has a good rating, 4 stars, but we have a person who was very uncomfortable with Shogi’s departure represented in the film.

This person liked the movie overall, but wrote a text criticizing how the movie showed a Shogi match, pointing out all the mistakes that were made during the match shown in the movie:

The review mentions that while the girl is portrayed as a shogi prodigy, the depiction of her skill in the game is inadequate and poorly expressed. The user cites an example of an interrupted shogi game where the girl commits an illegal move, moving a piece to a position where it couldn’t go, which, in real life, would result in an automatic defeat.

In addition, the user points out the lack of knowledge of the game’s rules demonstrated by the character and the lack of proper development of shogi moves throughout the plot. The review also mentions that, in contrast to the poorly acted shogi scene, other aspects of the acting and plot can be considered satisfactory.

Some reactions to this review:

“They should have played a professional shogi match”

“The actress is cute”

“Only with the pictures it is not possible to understand”

“Four people found it helpful”

The movie code is TMAVR-137.
