The long-awaited Rent-A-Girlfriend Chapter 380 is finally out, and fans were eagerly anticipating what would come next after Chizuru hinted that she “might be in love” with Kazuya. That brief moment gave readers hope that their relationship would finally take a step forward. But… the newest chapter delivered a painful twist—Chizuru rejects him.

You know when someone turns you down but gives you a long list of reasons to soften the blow? That’s exactly what happens here.

Chizuru tells Kazuya that she can’t accept the ring because she’s thinking about his grandmother, her grandmother, Mami, his lifestyle, and her job. One excuse after another, and it all ends with a polite but firm:

“I’m sorry.”

And how does Kazuya react?

With his usual blank, awkward expression and a resigned, “That’s life.”

Classic Kazuya.

It’s frustrating to see a character like him stay emotionally stagnant. After 380 chapters, fans hoped he would’ve matured—but no, he still reacts like the same nervous wreck.

Injured Chizuru Could Shift the Story?

Toward the end of the chapter, we see that Chizuru has injured her foot. There’s a possibility she won’t be able to walk properly, meaning she might have to rely on Kazuya for help in the next chapter. Could this bring them closer again? Sure. But after this rejection, the emotional tone is murky.

My Honest Take on the Series Right Now

Let me be real: even though I’ve been following this arc and complaining about how long this “date” has lasted, deep down… I no longer want Chizuru and Kazuya to end up together.

This isn’t out of spite—I used to root for them in the beginning. But as the story dragged on, I started to see how mismatched they really are. Kazuya isn’t the man for her. Honestly, he has better chemistry with Ruka, and even Sumi makes more sense to me. Not even Mami feels like a good match, and that says a lot.

Chizuru feels like an adult. Kazuya? He’s still a clumsy, indecisive man-child. And after 380 chapters, that gets exhausting.
