The Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods anime is officially in production, with Kadokawa revealing that the TV adaptation will premiere in 2026. The series is based on Enju’s light novels, originally illustrated by ox.

To celebrate the announcement, a teaser visual was released along with commemorative artwork by both ox and manga artist Akira Anzai, who handles the series’ manga adaptation.

Story Overview

Set in rural Japan, the Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods anime follows Minato Kusunoki, who inherits a mysterious old house once haunted by malevolent spirits. Thanks to his remarkable spiritual powers, Minato purifies the home—banishing the dark forces within. But his peaceful victory draws unexpected guests: a host of quirky and otherworldly gods seeking refuge in the now-purified Kusunoki residence.

Minato’s new life becomes one of quiet companionship with divine beings, but what surprises await as he coexists with these supernatural residents?

Light Novel and Manga Background

The story originally debuted online in April 2021 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform, followed by serialization on Kakuyomu in December of the same year. Kadokawa published the first light novel volume in November 2021, and the 10th volume is scheduled for release on July 17.

The manga adaptation by Akira Anzai began in November 2021 on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website. The first compiled manga volume came out in August 2022, with the fourth volume released on December 26.
