Famous for eroge games: Illusion is Closing Soon
The adult game developer Illusion is set to close its doors on August 18th, as announced on the company’s official profile and also on their Steam profile.
Famous for eroge games Illusion is Closing Soon
Illusion is known for adult games such as Koikatsu, Honey Select, VR Kanojo, and many others. It’s a pity as Illusion has over 30 years of history, starting with 2D eroge games before transitioning to 3D in the late 90s.
In the early 2000s, the company became renowned for the extensive customization capabilities of their 3D girls, with Koikatsu and Honey Select even reaching international audiences and being available on Steam, although edited.
In their announcement, Illusion states:
【 ILLUSION 活動終了のお知らせ 】

“Thank you for your support. We are announcing that starting from August 18th, we will discontinue the development and sales of Illusion products. We explored various directions to continue operating, but we regretfully inform that it is not feasible to continue.
Continuing the business would be complicated. We wanted to express our gratitude for your kindness and support over the years and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this announcement.
Customers who have already purchased our games will still be able to download and play them.”
As evident from the announcement, Illusion’s digital games will cease to be sold. So, if you want to purchase their games, now is the time. Click here to view them on Steam and here to view them on DLSITE.
Fans reacted in the following ways:
“But darn it, I have their games on my wishlist.”
“Noooooo!”
“How?”
“So sad.”
“A final sale would be nice.”
“Damn, that sucks. I guess I should get Honey Select 2; it’s been on my wishlist for a while.”
“I was waiting for them to release Room Girl on Steam.”
“This game has never been on sale, now would be a good time.”
“Discount, please.”
As seen from the comments, Honey Select 2 has never been on sale on Steam, possibly because Illusion was facing financial issues and couldn’t offer discounts.
