Hoshinaki Sekai no Annainin Is the New Manga by Carlo Zen
The new manga by Carlo Zen premiered last Thursday (May 9) in Kodansha’s digital magazine Morning two. Known for creating Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil), Carlo Zen teams up with Cells at Work! Code Black artist Issei Hatsuyoshiya to bring readers Hoshinaki Sekai no Annainin (Guides to a Starless World).

Hoshinaki Sekai no Annainin offers a unique concept: a fictional company called Destination Management Company, which provides personalized guided tours to lost food lovers. Each client receives a one-on-one experience to discover the world’s finest flavors.
With detailed artwork by Hatsuyoshiya, this series promises to explore themes of self-discovery, cuisine, and travel, all set in a mysterious starless world.
Other Notable Works by Carlo Zen
The new manga by Carlo Zen joins a notable portfolio that includes the military fantasy light novel series Youjo Senki, first published in 2013 with illustrations by Shinobu Shinotsuki. The series received an anime adaptation in 2017 and a film in 2019, both distributed internationally by Crunchyroll and Funimation.
Another major work by Zen is the sci-fi novel Yakitori, illustrated by Overlord artist so-bin, which was adapted into an anime by Netflix in 2023.
