Anime Characters Who Don’t Look the Same Age
Age in anime… Often, online debates erupt when a character looks like a child but is actually over 2000 years old, leading to endless disagreements. The truth is, age in anime varies greatly from series to series and is not a reliable parameter for anything.
Take a look at the examples below! Fans have shared comparisons of characters from different series who are the same age but have nothing in common!
Anime Characters Who Don’t Look the Same Age
Let’s start with the first example: Arima Kana from Oshi no Ko and Jotaro Kujo from JoJo. Both are 17 years old in their respective anime (Jotaro ages as the series progresses). But would you ever guess they are the same age? Jotaro looks like a grown man!
Now, let’s lower the characters’ ages. Compare Bocchi from the hit Bocchi the Rock with Brock from the original Pokémon anime. Both are 15 years old! Yet, just like in the previous example, the male character looks significantly older.
Now, in the 27-year-old range, we have Yor from SPY x FAMILY. She truly looks her stated age. But the same can’t be said for Anago from Sazae-san—he’s supposedly 27 but looks like he’s 50!
At 28 years old, we have Nico Robin from One Piece, and yes, she definitely seems her age. But what about Muska from Laputa? 28 years old but looking like an elderly man?
Finally, we have an age comparison shared by an otaku. While Shin-chan, at 5 years old, runs around pulling down his shorts, Gohan, also 5, was already fighting powerful enemies on distant planets.
In the end, it’s clear that age in anime means absolutely nothing!
