Oshi no Ko anime boosted Manga Sales
As is to be expected from such a huge success, the Oshi no Ko anime boosted manga sales. Shueisha announced on Monday that Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko manga will have more than 12 million copies in circulation as of the release of the manga’s twelfth compiled book volume on July 19, copies or not.
By that date, the manga’s circulation numbers will have jumped 2.7 times since the anime premiered about 3 months ago.
Oshi no Ko anime boosted Manga Sales
The manga had 4.5 million copies in circulation in March, ahead of the debut of the manga’s anime adaptation. And the numbers have doubled with over 9 million copies as of May 31, just under two months since the anime’s premiere.
The anime premiered in Japan on April 12 with a 90-minute first episode. The platform HIDIVE streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, the series broke major records on the platform being the number 1 series launch in the history of the streaming service.
