What The Heavenly Delusion Anime Cut From The Manga In Episode 3
The third episode of Heavenly Delusion covered the last 4 pages of chapter 6 of the manga, chapters 8 and 9 in full, and the first 14 pages of chapter 10.
In this episode we meet Kiruko’s past, and learn that the person “Kiruko” is actually Kiriko’s body with Haruki’s brain, the name “Kiruko” is a combination of the names Kiriko and Haruki.
A question that arises in this episode is the question of, “what happened to Kiriko?”, We hear a gun shooting noise and then when we see it, Haruki is in Kiriko’s body, there is a scene where it is possible to see another mark of surgery on top of Kiruko’s head:
Maybe it’s the mark that corresponds to the bullet we heard?
Now remember the first episode when Kiruko says she’s 18 and then corrects herself by saying she’s 20? Now we have this answer, Haruki is 18, her mind, but the body that is Kiriko is 20 years old.
The whole surgery sequence that the anime showed is the original scene, in the manga we don’t have these details, it just cuts to them erasing and him waking up in his sister’s body.
Speaking of waking up, when he wakes up in his sister’s body the other doctors are beside him and then Haruki freaks out in their presence, whereas in the anime he walks alone down the hall until he freaks out.
A scene that the anime cut is when Kiriko lies in the same bed as Haruki, he is admiring her from behind, showing that Haruki loves her sister in a romantic way practically:
In the part that shows Kiruko sitting on the floor waiting for work in the anime, does the manga actually show him doing some work, like fighting a cow for example?
At the end of the episode, Maru and Kiruko are still awake when the fish monster appears and one of the crew members screams, in the manga this takes longer, as the two were in bed, Maru looking at Kiruko while she was already sleeping.
And one more thing, now that we have the revelation about Kiruko, the ending has had a change! Right at the beginning of the opening when it shows Kiruko brushing her teeth, first it shows Haruki and then the face is changed in Kiruko:
Right at the beginning of the episode we see a banner that says that the current date is September 12, 2034, saying that it has been 10 years since the “Great Calamity”, this indicates that the great calamity occurred then in 2024.
With this information, we know that the year Maru and Kiruko are in is the year 2039, and that Maru was born in 2024. Now let’s go to episode 4!
What The Heavenly Delusion Anime Cut From The Manga In Episode 4?
Episode 4 of the Heavenly Delusion anime adapted the rest of Chapter 10 from the manga, the entire Chapter 11, 23 pages of Chapter 12, and half of Chapter 13.
One thing that is very clear when reading the manga is that the anime cut many parts of the fight between Maru and Kiruko against the fish monster, initially Kiruko asks the men to speed up the ship and then she goes to the top and gives more shots in the bug:
In the manga she shoots the “Kiru-Beam” more times at the monster and finds that the shot has no effect, while in the anime she just says that she is out of bullets, this is because the anime cut a good part of the fight.
Basically the biggest difference in this episode is the fight against the fish monster, but there are other little things like extra conversations between some characters that were cut.
By the way, the “Tomato Paradise” that the anime refers to is actually the farm that Maru and Kiruko arrived at and that they discovered were transporting the drugs, the school or whatever that location is, its name hasn’t been revealed yet. .
