Train Station Suffers Invasion of Evangelion Fans

Tenryu Futamata Station, located in Hamamatsu, Japan, has become an unexpected tourist attraction after appearing as a visual inspiration in the film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. However, the popularity generated by the film has brought a recurring problem for local operators: daily invasions by fans.

On April 2, the operator Tenryu Hamanako Railroad issued an official statement reporting the high frequency of people illegally accessing the site. According to the company, the invasions are occurring every day, despite warnings and stipulated times for guided tours.

“There are set hours for touring the depot. Please refrain from visiting outside those hours,” stated the company in its official message.

The station was used as a reference for Village-3, the peaceful rural setting seen at the start of the film. Since then, it has attracted a wave of visitors. However, it’s important to note that the site is private property and is officially classified as a National Tangible Cultural Property, which limits public access.
