Recently, on November 8th, “Oppai Day” or “Breast Day” took place in Japan, where several artists, cosplayers and anyone else participated by showing pics of boobs on the internet. There’s no secret, but we had a participant who decided to play it differently, Vtuber Kamibara Amu.

Kamibara Amu is a small Vtuber, she debuted in 2021 and to date has only 27,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, and well, she probably found the way to success! Showing your butt on Breast Day.

So, on November 8th, on Breast Day and when you were supposed to post a picture of your breasts, Kamibara Amu decided to post a photo of herself, and her “big butt”, obviously censoring her face with the caption: “Did you think they were breasts? Too bad, it’s a big butt.”

If you want to see her uncensored and larger photo, click here (and take the opportunity to follow Cakemoe on Twitter), it’s Kamibara Amu, and her post reached a record number of 2.5 million views! After this post, Kamibara Amu made another post that also reached a record number of views.

“Dear mom, since I was a elementary school student you teased me saying “what a big butt huh? haha”. Finally this big butt is getting the recognition it deserves. Thank you for giving me a big butt. Kisses”.

And finally on November 11th she published another post in which she showed her happiness at having gained 10,000 new followers on Twitter overnight.

Let’s see how people reacted?

  • It seems the focus is no longer on the face but on other parts.
  • In the end, it always comes to this. When everything becomes saturated and there’s no external difference, it becomes a world where differences are based on the skills and personality of the person behind the avatar.
  • With VRChat becoming popular, not only conversation but also physical movement is now important. The era of just talking on a flat screen to get popular is coming to an end. Those who are talented, attractive, good at real communication, and move in a cute way will be the ones who stand out.
  • If you have a strong presence from the neck down, that’s an advantage.
  • Doing the same thing as everyone else just makes you blend in with the crowd.
  • If you’re looking for real personality in a VTuber, you might as well support actual idols.
  • It used to be just “a character talking,” but now even the people behind the characters (or those claiming to be them) are showing up. The VTuber world has changed drastically.
  • Looks like it’s following the same path as voice acting.
  • Even young female manga artists and animators are now posting selfies. It’s a tough time to live in.
  • Independent VTubers started to reveal more of their real selves, and now even mid-tier groups like Shinsou and Aogiri are doing it too. Since it worked, now even the biggest companies are jumping on board, and they’ll keep doing it until the audience changes—just like what happened with the idolization of voice actors.
  • They say that even Hololive’s new members include a former AKB.

It is worth mentioning that browsing Kamibara Amu’s Twitter profile, you can see that she posts photos of her body, always hiding her face, the world of Vtubers is really changing.
