Five Years Later, One Piece YouTuber Retires After Comments from the Author

The One Piece YouTuber Yuderon has officially announced his retirement from his channel after five years of creating content dedicated to One Piece. He used to upload videos discussing new chapters and analyzing the story in an attempt to predict future developments.

His decision to step away was prompted by comments made by the manga’s creator, Eiichiro Oda, who expressed that he doesn’t like fan theories—especially those trying to predict what will happen next in the plot.

Yuderon, who has over 160,000 subscribers on YouTube, became known for his in-depth analysis of the manga serialized weekly in Weekly Shonen Jump, published by Shueisha.

In a video posted on May 19, Yuderon talked about an episode of the Japanese radio show All Night Nippon, aired on the 9th, in which Seiya, from the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, revealed he is close friends with Oda. He shared that the mangaka said he doesn’t like seeing the story “theorized.”

According to Yuderon, although he was already aware that creators like Oda might not appreciate theory content trying to guess the story’s direction, he had always seen it as a personal hobby. However, after hearing directly that the One Piece author is against such content, he felt he could no longer continue with the same passion and respect he had always held for the work.

The One Piece YouTuber also mentioned other reasons for his decision, such as a drop in views compared to his peak and a growing lack of time due to professional commitments outside the channel.

During his farewell, Yuderon reflected on the past five years of activity as a way to keep life exciting, especially at a time when, as he put it, he “couldn’t say silly or spicy things anymore.” Now, he plans to follow the series purely as a reader, all the way to its conclusion.

In his farewell video, he also expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him along the way: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who watched my videos, interacted with me, or offered kind words.”
