Do you like fighting with swords and magic? Then Kagurabachi is for you! The series is characterized by its overarching revenge plot. Right from the beginning we can notice the high degree of violence that the series has.

Premise of Kagurabachi

Compared to a typical shounen, Kagurabachi is more violent, as is evident in chapter 1. Although the narrative does not prominently feature explicit blood, the presence of blood is a constant motif from beginning to end.

The narrative is marked by its aggressive and brutal design, exemplified by moments like the protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira, effortlessly separating a group of opponents in a single quick movement.

How did Kagurabachi come about?

The manga was included in Shonen Jump’s NETXWAVE initiative, a project that aims to support emerging talent in the manga industry.

The decision to launch this initiative was influenced by several factors, including the imminent conclusion of series by established authors, the dearth of promising new talent in recent years, and a strategic effort to revitalize its manga lineup.

Takeru stands out as a relatively new entrant in the industry, with only two previous works to his name: Chain in 2021 and Roku no Meiyaku in 2022, both one-shot publications. You can read Kagurabachi here.
