Man Arrested for Carrying Master Sword Replica on Street
A man in the UK was arrested and sentenced to 4 months in prison for carrying a replica of the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda series. Note, it wasn’t a full sword but a replica only 15 cm long.
The 48-year-old man, named Anthony Bray, was arrested on June 8th. Videos of Anthony walking the streets with the Master Sword in hand were recorded by security cameras, and the police began looking for him.
When they found him, they arrested him. Bray told the police that he bought the item online and used it only as a “fidget” to keep his hands busy. Even though he hadn’t robbed anyone (as far as known), he was still arrested because the authorities said “he could use it as a weapon.”
Since he could use the replica as a weapon, he was given a 4-month prison sentence. Bray insisted he did not use the Master Sword as a weapon, but it was to no avail. In addition to the 4 months in prison, he must pay a fine of 154 euros.
Japanese reactions to this news:
- “Was he really arrested for that?”
- “Did he do the spin attack?”
- “Only Link is allowed to carry the Master Sword”
- “Carrying weapons is prohibited”
- “Getting a prison sentence because of the Master Sword, how sad”
- “It would have been better to use the White Sword”
- “This happened in London, huh?”
