Koei Tecmo Takes Down NSFW Animations
Sometimes companies dislike fans who create NSFW content of their works. An extremely well-known case is that of Blizzard, which, when the game Overwatch was released, went after everyone who created NSFW animations of the female characters in the game, such as D.va, Widowmaker, Mercy, etc.
And now we have a new case, where Koei Tecmo, the owner of the Dead or Alive series, which features beautiful female characters, received DMCA notices and had its animations taken down from its Twitter profile.
Koei Tecmo Takes Down NSFW Animations
As mentioned above, the artist Lewdgazer creates NSFW 3D animations of the female characters from the fighting game Dead or Alive. However, he was recently hit with several DMCA takedowns that removed his videos.
For now, the content removal has only occurred on Twitter, and his animations remain online on other sites such as Pixiv, Patreon, and SubscribeStar.
Another artist mentioned that years ago, he also received a DMCA from Koei Tecmo for a fan work that, in his case, wasn’t even NSFW.
It’s unclear exactly why Koei Tecmo goes after this type of content. The best we can assume is that it might involve the 3D models of the characters. If it were a 2D animation, perhaps this wouldn’t happen? But in any case, it’s similar to what Blizzard does with NSFW animations of Overwatch.
