Apparently Vtuber Pikamee Canceled His Hogwarts Legacy stream due to harassment he suffered after announcing the game’s live on his profile.
Amane Pikamee is a very popular Vtuber who has been around for years, she stands out for being able to speak both Japanese and English fluently and interact with fans in her country and abroad.
She is on a hiatus that lasts more than a month due to COVID-19, her family ended up getting the disease and she started to take care of them (and she ended up getting sick herself), and that prevented her from doing lives.
On February 7th Pikamee announced a Hogwarts Legacy live and in her announcement post she said: “I’m just a kettle that wants to play some games. Playing this game doesn’t mean I support anything in particular, I just want to play games, That’s all, I hope everyone has an amazing day.”
Apparently, after this publication, she started to be harassed on social networks, since the game came out there has been an internet hysteria regarding streamers who are playing Hogwarts Legacy, some people want to boycott the game because of the author of Harry Potter, the J.K. Rowling.
Apparently Vtuber Pikamee Canceled His Hogwarts Legacy stream due to Harassment
On the same day, Pikamee announced the cancellation of the live, in her message she did not cite any reason, she just said: “I apologize but I will cancel today’s live, see you in the next live”.
According to what is said, Pikamee was harassed on his profile to the point of canceling his live due to all the controversy surrounding the game. A screenshot shows a person saying this: “Oh, are you being harassed for playing the stupid warlock game? Being abused by your chat? Are you going to cry? Now you know a little bit of what trans people feel, you know, the ones your money is on supporting abusers”.
Pikamee’s profile on twitter no longer has any publications about the live or its cancellation, she deleted the publications, but in her community on Youtube there is still a notice of the cancellation of the live.
“I can’t stand it when people say ‘by supporting [something normal] you also support [something bad].”
“I love how doing this shit just makes the game more popular and basically everything they’ve been doing about harassing people makes people more supportive”
“I never understood how these people want to end hate and harassment using hate and harassment”
“I feel bad for Pikamee, I can’t believe people are attacking streamers for playing Hogwarts Legacy”
“And now everyone hates trans people, justifying Rowling and haters too, congrats, now you’re the bad guys.”
“And people wonder why less and less people support them”
“I will 100% buy this game now”
Vtuber Pippa Considers this Controversy Hypocritical
Vtuber Pippa started about this whole situation, she said that she doesn’t like Harry Potter but she is against all the harassment that streamers are suffering, she also said that she thinks this whole situation is hypocritical, because the people who are complaining about Hogwarts Legacy play the games from Blizzard and Genshin Impact.
She ends by attesting to a fact, on Twitch Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most watched games of all time, with a lot of people watching, she said that this shows that those who complain are a minority who scream, and not the actual number of people who complain about the game, the vast majority just want to play and have fun.
Vtubers from Hololive are playing the game quietly, Vtuber Moona herself is one of the most addicted to the game, just see how many hours her Hogwarts Legacy lives last:
Her first Hogwarts Legacy live lasted only 6 hours because she had a meeting with the other Vtubers, and Reine had to appear on the live to remind her of the meeting, as she got so addicted to the game that she ended up forgetting.
