JoJo Part 7: Steel Ball Run is set in 1890 in the United States. In the American Wild West, an unprecedented cross-country race begins in San Diego. Thousands of competitors are ready to traverse the country in pursuit of a multimillion-dollar prize, facing deserts and dangerous terrain. Although Steel Ball Run initially started as a standalone story when it was published in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2004, its move to Ultra Jump in April 2005 cemented its place as part of the official JoJo timeline. The manga was originally published in 24 volumes between May 2004 and June 2011, and was later repackaged into a 16-volume edition between 2017 and 2018.
The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise began in 1986 with Phantom Blood and has since received several sequels, including Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind, and Stone Ocean. The eighth part, JoJolion, concluded in August 2021, and the ninth arc, The JoJoLands, has been ongoing since February 2023.
