The illegal filming of Demon Slayer Infinity Castle has prompted a new legal notice from the production committee behind the popular anime. The message, titled Regarding the illegal filming and uploading of Demon Slayer: The Movie – Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza Returns, outlines that piracy of any kind is a violation of copyright law. The producers emphasized that even anonymous posters can be tracked and held accountable through civil and criminal action.
According to the statement, piracy damages the fan experience and disrespects the creators’ hard work. Fans are strongly encouraged to support the film by watching it only in theaters through official channels. The team also reaffirmed its commitment to defending the movie’s integrity and acting against those who upload pirated content.
This is the second official legal notice surrounding Demon Slayer Infinity Castle. The first followed a leak of exclusive theater-only footage, which also resulted in warnings against filming and uploading scenes online.
Take for example the video below, someone recorded this man doing his exercise and illegally watching the new movie:
The notice coincides with the movie’s record-breaking performance in Japan. Demon Slayer Infinity Castle drew over 5 million moviegoers and nearly $50 million in its first four days. Industry experts expect the film to surpass the international success of Mugen Train. A worldwide rollout begins August 14, with Crunchyroll’s Asa Suehira teasing an “unprecedented scale” of release.
Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and animated by ufotable, Infinity Castle is the first in a trilogy that will conclude Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga. The story begins during the Hashira Training arc, just as Muzan Kibutsuji launches a surprise attack on the Ubuyashiki Mansion. In the chaos, Tanjiro and the Hashira are drawn into the Infinity Castle—Muzan’s stronghold.
The final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons is about to begin.
