The Creation of Oshi no Ko came from a joke and the Kaguya-sama Live action

The creation of Oshi no Ko came from a joke
At the beginning of the first episode of Oshi no Ko, we see Gorou watching the news on TV, where it is announced that an idol is getting married. From there, a conversation takes place between these two guys:
Many people who watched the anime found that part strange and weird, after all, it’s bizarre for someone to say something like that, isn’t it? I saw several reaction videos on YouTube where people felt uncomfortable and interpreted it as the anime addressing a controversial topic.
In Japan, it’s common that whenever a celebrity with idol status announces her marriage or pregnancy, some people joke about the idea of being reincarnated as that idol’s son on social media. It’s a famous and recurring joke over there.
Aka Akasaka tells that, in a conversation with one of her assistants, the desire to reincarnate as the son of an idol arose. As I mentioned earlier, this is a common joke in Japan, however Aka decided to jot down this idea in his story notebook for a future manga.
The live-action adaptation of Kaguya-sama also influenced the creation of Oshi no Ko
For those who don’t know, Kaguya-sama has a live-action film, which Aka Akasaka closely followed during its production. According to the author, it was during the production of these films that he began to hear complaints about the entertainment industry.
In addition, for those who follow the author, it is known that he became friends with several Vtubers and even participated in live broadcasts with them. Aka reports that he also started to hear complaints from Vtubers about the problems that occur behind the scenes.
It was then that something sparked in Aka, and he decided to create a story about the entertainment industry, combining it with the idea of being reincarnated as the son of an idol that he had noted earlier.
