Classic Jump Manga Will Be Adapted Into Anime

An old Jump manga is about to come back to life! According to the Summer 2025 issue of Total Licensing magazine, Japanese distributor REMOW and publishing giant Shueisha are co-producing a new adaptation of a classic manga from Weekly Shonen Jump that ended over 15 years ago. This series is among the most requested by fans to receive an anime adaptation.

The information was revealed on pages 54 and 106 of the magazine, where it’s described as a “high-profile project” that has not yet been officially announced. While details about the exact title remain undisclosed, fans have already started speculating about which classic Shonen Jump manga will be chosen.

REMOW hinted that more details might be shared in person during Licensing Expo 2025, which will take place from July 16 to 18. The studio is currently seeking partners to license products based on the new series.

Jigoku Sensei Nube Will Be the First Anime from the REMOW and Shueisha Partnership

The first confirmed project from the collaboration between REMOW and Shueisha will be a new adaptation of Jigoku Sensei Nube, set to premiere in the summer of 2025. The original manga, written by Sho Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano, was serialized from 1993 to 1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump.

REMOW is backed by major Japanese industry players, including Shueisha, Toei Animation, and TV Tokyo. Recent REMOW releases include Nokotan, Umamusume: Cinderella Gray, and Your Forma. Upcoming titles include Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka and Tougen Anki.
