The game follows the story of the demon prince Psaro, who is born neither fully human nor fully demon, and is cursed by his father, the Demon King, making him unable to harm demons.
Psaro aims to become a Monster Wrangler and, on his journey, recruits and fights alongside several opponents. The game’s trailer also features other characters like Alena, Torneko and Maya whose outfits caught attention.
Maya, Meena Mahabala’s older sister, is a dancer and mage in Dragon Quest IV. Compared to her sister, Maya is barely dressed, the only pieces of clothing covering her body are a bra, thong and jewelry.
This remained more or less unchanged in all subsequent titles that featured the character. Except that in the latest trailer, Maya’s clothes, while still more revealing than Meena’s, appear to be a bit covered up, especially in the chest area.
Her cleavage is covered by a neck-length blouse, and she wears additional boob armor on top. Maya still wears a thong, but now appears to be wearing shorts underneath, and a body chain covers her belly button.
On the other hand, in Dragon Quest II, for example, Maya appeared with her original and quite revealing look:
Both Dragon Quest II and The Dark Prince are rated 12+. The revisions this time are likely to have to do with several factors beyond the rating, such as changing company ideals and principles and platform standards.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is set to release on December 1st for Nintendo Switch.
