They are Using AI to Undress Famous Voice Actresses
They are Using AI to Undress Famous Voice Actresses! A certain AI has been causing mischief by generating a series of images of voice actresses with little clothing, which are being sold in Japan. AIs have recently gained popularity, resulting in a lot of fun and controversy.
These images are being generated using a plugin or program called “LoRA” (Low-Rank Adaptation of Large Language Models), which allows the AI to quickly learn specific patterns of a person, such as their face, hair, or expression, and generate realistic images.

Is this a problem? The three main types of violation of the right to publicity
The itmedia portal contacted a lawyer specialized in image rights named Kakinuma to inquire about how we should legally consider the sale of these AI-generated images.
The lawyer states that the main issue in this case is “the right to publicity of the actresses and other affected individuals” and that “there is no specific legal provision regarding the right to publicity in Japan,” but it has been recognized in judicial precedents.
According to these precedents, there are three main types of violation of the right to publicity identified by the Supreme Court of Japan, namely:
1 – The use of one’s own portrait or illustration as a product that can be independently appreciated and has commercial value in itself.
2 – The use of a portrait or illustration in a product to differentiate it in the market and attract consumers’ attention.
3 – The use of the portrait or illustration for advertising or promoting a product or service.
The lawyer concludes by stating that the sale of these images of voice actresses with little clothing can indeed constitute a serious violation of the right to publicity, as well as defamation and interference in their privacy.
In other words, those who are financially benefiting from these images of voice actresses with little clothing may face legal consequences with this practice.
