PIXEL DASH Toast of Destiny Mixes High School Romance and Action in New AniBit Game
PIXEL DASH Toast of Destiny is an upcoming side-scrolling action game from Xenotoon, set to release on PC via Steam. This marks the debut title under AniBit, a new brand aiming to merge anime storytelling with interactive gameplay. The game will support Japanese language at launch.
The story centers on Haruka Ran, a seemingly ordinary high school girl who dreams of a fated romantic encounter. On the morning of her school trip, she runs out the door late, toast in mouth, racing through the streets with one hope in mind: bumping into her destined prince charming. If you’ve ever watched a classic shoujo anime, this setup should feel both familiar and nostalgic.
Gameplay in PIXEL DASH Toast of Destiny is designed to be simple yet satisfying, with just two main actions: jump and dash. Players must dodge obstacles with precise timing while managing a stamina bar and collecting helpful items along the way. The game’s levels progress from the usual route to school, to picturesque Kyoto settings, and even romantic date spots—each filled with unique traps and mechanics to keep things fresh.
What makes this title stand out is its integration of anime cutscenes directly into the gameplay. These animated segments bring Haruka’s story to life, blending narrative and action into a seamless experience. The game is being developed by Clover Lab and produced under AniBit, a creative label launched by Xenotoon.
Xenotoon, known for pushing the boundaries of anime through technology, has previously worked on music videos and NFT projects in the Web3 space. With AniBit, they’re now expanding into gaming, exploring how anime can evolve through interactive media. They see the indie game scene as the perfect platform for experimenting with bold ideas like PIXEL DASH Toast of Destiny.
Although the release date hasn’t been announced yet, the game is already available to wishlist on Steam. Fans of anime-inspired games, high school rom-com tropes, and fast-paced runners should definitely keep an eye on this one.
