Someone paid $20,000 for Volume 1 of Naruto
You might be wondering how someone could just spend $20,000 on Volume 1 of Naruto, right? But let me tell you: CRAZY PEOPLE! And thanks to them, this Volume 1 of Naruto might have become the most expensive manga in history.
Someone paid $20,000 for Volume 1 of Naruto
Beckett Collectibles recently authenticated a copy of Volume 1 of the Naruto manga and sold it privately to someone who paid the hefty sum of $20,000. This original Japanese Volume 1 received a grade of 9.8 and even comes with an obi where Naruto says: “I will become Hokage.”
The 9.8 grade given by Beckett indicates that this copy of Volume 1 of Naruto is “near mint,” showing that its quality is just like it was in the bookstore at the time this volume was released.
This volume is worth this much because it’s one of the first prints of Volume 1. As you know, over the years, Volume 1 has been reprinted many, many times, so it’s quite rare to find an original from the first print!
However, many people agree that this is still an absurdly high price to pay for Naruto. You can even find copies of Volume 1 of Naruto being sold in stores like “Mercado Livre” in Japan for much lower prices.
