The synopsis of Tenmaku Cinema introduces us to Hajime Shinichi, an extreme film buff who, one day, encounters the ghost of the mysterious and talented screenwriter Takihiko Tenmaku. With the help of this ghost, he aims to create the best films!
It is with regret that we inform you that the manga has been officially canceled. On the 3rd of this September, Chapter 20 was published, and according to information circulating on social media profiles that share manga news, the next chapter, Chapter 21, will be the last.
Fans have expressed their disappointment:
“Please free Saeki from Jump.”
“I’m so sad that this manga has ended; it meant so much to me, as I work in the TV/Film industry, and it was amazing to see the manga tackle this theme.”
“I’ll miss Himeki.”
“I won’t have Himeki anymore.”
“I kind of expected this, but it’s tragic. I was really enjoying the series, but it became clear that it didn’t have an audience in Jump.”

“And it was getting so good…”
For those who follow manga on the MangaPlus website, they know that these kinds of sudden cancellations are more common than one might imagine. Now that Western audiences can follow the same releases as Japan, they are seeing how Jump operates.
