Maybe Solo Leveling Anime will adapt the Japanese Version and not the Original Manhwa
The Solo Leveling anime was finally announced after years of fans asking for an anime adaptation of the manhwa for years and years. It will finally happen and A-1 Pictures will turn Solo Leveling into an anime.
The announcement was made at Anime Expo during the Crunchyroll panel (which is involved in the production). A visual was released as well as a PV that shows nothing of the animation exactly.
Solo Leveling is Anti-Japanese!
After the announcement, some Japanese began to complain about the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, as the original novel would be “anti-Japanese“. Solo Leveling is a title written by a South Korean author and it shows some Japanese characters in a not very pleasant way in its story.
This caused some Japanese to complain “Why is a Japanese company adapting an anti-Japanese story?”. Despite having some elements that some Japanese consider “anti”, an assumption was initiated.
And if maybe, this Solo Leveling anime that was announced, adapts the Japanese light novel version and not the original?

Solo Leveling has already been released in Japan in a light novel version whose cover of the first volume you can see below:
According to what is said, this version has some differences in its history from the original version. One of these changes for example is the name of the protagonist.
In the original, the protagonist is called Sung Jin-Woo, but in the Japanese version of the light novel, his name was apparently changed to Shun Mizushino.
Remember the Tower of God anime? One criticism that fans made of the anime was the change in the name of the protagonist, in the original he was called “Baam” but the anime changed it to “Yoru”.
Now the question arises among fans, will they adapt the version of the light novel that came out in Japan and that has some changes in its story compared to the original?
