Sinon’s name is misspelled in the opening of the Sword Art Online Variant Showdown game
Intern screwed up! Sinon’s name is misspelled in a Sword Art Online game. Which is a funny situation for me, as I used to put my nickname as ”Shinon” when I played games online.
That’s exactly what happened, they put ”Shinon” in the opening instead of ”Sinon”. I don’t know about you, but I’ve also confused the character’s name several times.
Sword Art Online Variant Showdown is a new mobile game in the franchise that was released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series. And behold, in the official opening of the game Sinon’s name is spelled wrong.
You can see the error at 1:24 when the name of the characters that are in the Sword Art Online Variant Showdown game is displayed:
The part in question is this one:
You must know that the production of an animation involves dozens of people. The question is how did they miss an error like this?
Well, a fact is that in Japanese, we have “shi”, but you don’t have “Si”, so whoever wrote the name must not have noticed this since they are too used to “shi”.

”Sinon is cute and cool!”
Sword Art Online Variant Showdown Synopsis
Have you heard of Cross Edge? It’s a title Kirito has heard before. A game that attracted a lot of attention from gamers, especially since it was supposedly designed by a high school genius. One day at the Dicey Cafe, Kirito hears two rumors about Cross Edge. The first: there is a mysterious player who attacks out of nowhere. Losing to them means losing a part of your own memories. The second: this player wears a pulled-down hood to hide his eyes… Kirito can’t help but remember the Laughing Coffin, the guild of assassin players he fought in SAO. Partly to investigate these rumours, Kirito and his friends begin playing Cross Edge… and soon find themselves the target of a surprise attack.
