Some Pokémon have bizarre inspirations and stories. Today, we’re going to talk about the Pokémon Bombirdier, which is inspired by the stork, from the story of the bird that delivers babies, but has a macabre behavior.

It has slanted black eyes with black eyeliner marks around them, a long reddish-pink beak with a rounded bump at the tip, and a small fan-shaped crest on the back of its head.

It has a long neck and tall, thin, reddish-pink legs with three toes pointing forward and one backward on each foot. Its claws are black, as are the feathers on the wingtips, the lower body, and the inner part of the tail, which has a square tip. This is the Pokémon Bombirdier.

Pokémon Bombirdier likes to have fun by picking up various objects and dropping them from a high place. It particularly enjoys dropping objects that make loud noises.

This Pokémon appears to be inspired by a real-life bird that throws its immature chicks out of the nest, as you can see in the tweet below. It seems that this stork discards immature chicks from its nest to increase the chances of survival for the other chicks.

We never imagined a stork doing that, did we?

Pokémon is full of spooky stories, such as that of Pokémon Hypno, whose official Pokédex description in Pokémon FireRed says the following: “The Pokémon carries a pendulum-like device. There was an incident in which it abducted a child it hypnotized.”
