Project Oldeus Accused of Plagiarizing Arknights

Project Oldeus is accused of plagiarizing Arknights, more precisely, some scenes from the Arknights animation. Oldeus is an NFTs web3 project that has manga characters and tokens that can be purchased.

The plagiarism accusation came after the Oldeus project published a video with 21 seconds of animation showing some characters from the project.

So fans noticed similarities with the Arknights animation, check it out below. Above the trailer for project Oldeus, below Arknights:

 

According to what was said on the Oldeus discord server, the similarities are due to the fact that the studio that animated the Oldeus trailer was the same one that made the Arknights trailer.

Oldeus’ official profile made a series of publications saying that they did not intend to plagiarize Arknights, but to get inspiration. They shared some files showing how the trailer was made.

Greetings everyone — it has come to our attention that our recent trailer bears a lot of resemblance to that of a scene from the Arknights trailer.

They also mentioned that they reached out to the Arknights team to address any concerns about what happened.
