Man in VTuber Iofi Cosplay Stops Thief at Anime Event
Over the weekend of May 24 and 25, 2025, the Comic Frontier event took place in Indonesia (which, from what I’ve seen, is the biggest event in the country). However, one particular incident caught a lot of attention — a man cosplaying as the VTuber Iofi stopped a thief by restraining him and taking him down.

Known on Twitter as RAF and self-proclaimed “simp” of Hololive VTubers (especially Airani Iofifteen), he attended the event cosplaying as Airani Iofifteen, specifically wearing the outfit she used during Hololive Fes 6:
Below, you can see the moment this man, dressed in Iofi cosplay, stopped the thief, restrained him, and saved the day at Comic Frontier.
RAF explained the whole situation. According to him:
“I was helping at booth AE-32 (close to the scene), and from a distance of 2–3 booths, I saw someone I didn’t recognize suddenly enter the booth area and grab a suitcase that held the merchandise. At first, I thought: ‘Looks like this person wants to steal the merch.’
Even from where I was standing, their movements already looked suspicious. So I approached the booth, and when I got closer, I saw they were trying to grab a phone that had been left on a chair.
As soon as they got it and tried to run, I immediately grabbed them and shouted for help.
From the moment I caught them until they were restrained, I tried to hold them off until help arrived. (For the record, one of my hands was still holding a Towa plushie). Thankfully, the suspect was detained by CF security.
Afterward, I spoke with CF security and told them I was ready and available to provide details of the incident and a timeline, since it did cause quite a stir.”
VTuber Iofi Reacts to the Incident
The event caused many people to tag VTuber Iofi, and she commented:
“I’m still groggy from jet lag, and suddenly I was surprised by how many people were mentioning me 👁👄
Buff Yopipi on CF was not on my 2025 bucket list but I’ll take it 🤘
Be careful with your belongings, guys.”
RAF (the cosplay hero who recovered the stolen items) saw Iofi’s post and replied:
“Sometimes I hope there’ll be exciting new content every time you come to CF in Iofi cosplay, but this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind 👉👈”
To which Iofi replied by telling him to be careful.
The incident has already inspired fanart — some of which Iofi herself shared.
