Lycoris Recoil To Receive Film, as Indicated by Deleted Tweet
Despite fans’ eagerness for a second season, recent developments suggest that a movie might be in the works. This information comes from a now-deleted tweet by Shunsuke Sugimoto, an employee at A-1 Pictures.
In the screenshot below, a fan expresses, “Mashle and Solo Leveling are my favorite anime this season; I’m also waiting for the Lycoris Recoil announcement. I like the original A-1 Pictures anime,” to which Sugimoto responded:
After fans noticed the message, Sugimoto deleted the tweet. When questioned, he explained, “I don’t know English well,” and “I can’t provide detailed information about anime unless they are officially announced. I’m sorry, but new projects have been announced, and everyone is working hard, so believe and wait for them, sorry.”
It’s worth noting that Sugimoto mentioned his limited English proficiency, leaving room for the possibility that he might have used a translator to communicate with foreign fans, potentially resulting in a translation error. Alternatively, he may have inadvertently revealed that Lycoris Recoil is set to have a movie adaptation.
Aniplex is teasing “secret projects” by revealing only letters. So far, they’ve unveiled two projects, an anime with the letter “O” and another with the letter “M.” The true nature of these projects remains unknown, adding an air of mystery to the upcoming releases.
