MyNavi, known for operating a job information website recently conducted a survey where it was shown that almost 20% of Japanese college students do not want children.

19.2% of students who plan to graduate from university or graduate school in 2024 responded that they do not want children. The percentage of female students who responded that they did not want children was 23.5%, higher than the 12.1% of male students:
”I don’t have confidence that I can raise my child well” was the most common reason given by 57.4%, followed by ”I don’t have time for myself” with 51.5% and ”Financial worries” with 51.0%.
This survey was carried out over the internet, and its target audience was third-year university students and postgraduate students from across the country, registered members of MyNavi and responses were obtained from 2,337 people. Even though the government is launching dating apps for people to make out more, many young people don’t care about relationships.
