Fans Stop Hentai Manga Sequel from Turning into Netorare
This is a curious story of how fans ended up stopping a hentai manga sequel from turning into netorare. It makes me wonder: what goes through an author’s mind to make them want to turn a manga that started with just two characters into a netorare in the sequel? That’s exactly what the artist Enno Esuke wanted to do.
Fans Stop Hentai Manga Sequel from Turning into Netorare
At the end of 2024, Esuke published his hentai doujin Dekapai Gimai Syuurai, which is about a guy whose mom marries a new man, and he gains a stepsister. That stepsister has incredibly large “attributes”, which naturally leads the two to do what people do in this kind of manga.
Esuke was considering making a sequel to that doujin, but this time he wanted the sister to get involved with another male character — an older man than the brother — which would likely take the story into netorare territory.
He then asked his fans for their opinion in a Twitter poll:
“Just asking for reference, would you be okay if the sequel to Dekapai Gimai Syuurai had a different male protagonist (an older guy)?”
As you can see, 66% of voters said they preferred the current protagonist.
So, what happened with the poll? Apparently, it caused quite a mess. After posting it, Esuke made a statement criticizing people who kept telling him to “do this or that” with a manga he hadn’t even started drawing.
He said:
“Like, you’re already saying ‘do this’ or ‘do that’ about a manga I haven’t even started drawing yet. That’s just messed up, seriously. Stop it. From now on, I’ll only post announcements.”
And he followed up with:
“About what happened: I was the one who started the poll, which caused confusion, and I also spoke rudely. I apologize for that. I didn’t think deeply about changing the character for the sequel — it was careless of me. As for the doujin, instead of making a sequel to an existing work, I think I’ll come up with something new.”
Yep, a huge mess came out of that one little poll — even international fans got involved. One replied:
“What did you expect? You asked people if they wanted cuckold content in a story that had nothing to do with NTR. Honestly, do whatever you want, it’s your choice at the end of the day.”
Another added:
“You said in the poll you were going to add an older man, what did you think people would assume?”
And that’s how fans managed to stop a hentai manga sequel from becoming netorare — a story that would surely make the anti-netorare subreddit proud, right?
