On November 18, 2024, the anime’s team released an official statement explaining the decision. The announcement read: “Thank you for your continued support of the Haigakura anime. This series began airing on October 7, 2024, but after discussions with the production team and committee, led by Typhoon Graphics, we have decided that more time is needed to maintain the quality and charm of key episodes starting from Episode 8.”
The statement also expressed regret: “We deeply apologize to all viewers, the original author Shinobu Takayama, the publisher Ichijinsha, as well as the artists and companies involved in promoting this work for the inconvenience caused. Details about the new broadcast schedule will be shared on the program’s official website and social media as soon as they are finalized.”
Starting November 25, 2024, the show’s time slot will be filled with rebroadcasts of Haigakura, beginning with Episode 1. These reruns are confirmed to continue at least until December 30, 2024. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on when Episode 8 will air or be available on streaming platforms.
Created by Shinobu Takayama, Haigakura is an action-fantasy series that follows the Kashikan – officers who use song and dance to seal evil gods and maintain balance in their world. The story centers on Ichiyou, a tone-deaf Kashikan who undertakes a mission in modern-day Japan. With over 15 years of circulation and more than one million copies sold, the manga has cultivated a dedicated fanbase. The anime has drawn comparisons to Saiyuki and Tactics, earning cult status among Fall 2024 viewers and shojo fans alike.
