Grow Up Show Original Anime Announced for 2026 by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures
The Grow Up Show original anime was officially announced on “Sunflower Day” by Aniplex, A-1 Pictures, and the newly formed Psyde Kick Studio. Titled Grow Up Show: Himawari no Circus-dan (The Sunflower Circus Troupe), the series is set to debut in 2026.
Kanta Kamei, known for directing Oreshura, Dimension W, and Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, will direct the Grow Up Show original anime. The original character designs are by Kurehito Misaki, the illustrator of the Saekano light novels. Takeshi Kikuchi, who previously worked on Skeleton Knight in Another World, will handle both the scriptwriting and overall story composition.
The anime is being produced jointly by A-1 Pictures and Psyde Kick Studio.
Psyde Kick Studio: A-1 Pictures’ new creative label
Psyde Kick Studio was established by A-1 Pictures on July 1st as a new label aimed at promoting creative freedom in anime production. The goal of the label is to challenge traditional animation frameworks and encourage fresh ideas and experimental workflows from emerging creators, while building on A-1 Pictures’ extensive production experience.
The label is already working on several new projects, including the Grow Up Show original anime. Jun Katou, who has worked as a production supervisor on 86 and the Sword Art Online franchise, serves as the studio’s representative.
