Japan has a Gacha Book that helps you decide what to read
There’s gacha for everything in Japan, huh? Today we are going to show you the Gacha Book that helps you decide what to read. A Japanese online bookstore called Honto has offered a ”book gacha”, and all users have to do is choose the genre they want to read.
This works like a real gacha system as you don’t know which book you’re going to get. That service ended last month but was said to be back soon.
The gacha book that helps you decide what to read
This gacha book that helps you decide what to read works like this, there are about 100 paperback novels included in this gacha. Users first choose one of four available options: short story collections, complete novels, books for elementary and high school students, and gift-giving books.
Then, the genre can be selected from twelve categories, including drama, science fiction, horror, mystery, and young adult. A member of the Honto team selects a book that matches your choices and it is delivered to you.
The ”books for elementary and high school students” option includes books that can be enjoyed by elementary and high school students, books that parents and children can enjoy, and also books for those who are not yet used to reading regular novels.
The ”gift books” option is exactly what the name suggests. This option also includes an original book cover, bookmark and gift box, and can be delivered directly to the gift recipient. The cost of this option includes the price of the book itself plus R$ 78.72 for the other items in the set.
This gacha book that helps you decide what to read is really interesting. Netflix, for example, has a similar system that chooses something for you to watch without having to hunt for a title across the platform.
