Ecchi Causes Snowbreak Update Delay
The sci-fi RPG shooter Snowbreak: Containment Zone had the release of its 2.1 update delayed on Android devices due to app review issues. According to information shared on the game’s official Discord server, the delay was caused by Google deeming the promotional image for the “Operation Midnight” event inappropriate.
Ecchi Causes Snowbreak Update Delay
The “Operation Midnight” event introduces the new Operative Vidya Agave, who appears in a revealing outfit. The delay on the Google Play Store may have been triggered by the prominence of Vidya Agave’s bust in the promotional image.
This isn’t the first time Snowbreak: Containment Zone has faced censorship and delays; the promotional video for the same update also encountered similar issues on YouTube, although it is now available for viewing.
The 2.1 update was eventually released on the Google Play Store with no visible changes to the promotional image or video. To compensate for the delay, Android players received in-game currency as compensation.
Recently, Snowbreak: Containment Zone increased its age rating to M/PEGI 16 and has been releasing character skins with bolder and more revealing designs. Additionally, the developers have been implementing new voice lines and more intimate character interactions.
In an interview with AUTOMATON, the game’s producer for the Japanese region stated that the focus on fanservice will continue, as developers have identified it as a player demand. While this strategy has nearly doubled the average player count of Snowbreak: Containment Zone, it has also faced resistance from distribution platforms.
