Delicious in Dungeon Becomes Kadokawa’s Most Profitable Anime
Kadokawa recently released its financial results for the first fiscal quarter (April 1 to June 30, 2024), revealing that the anime Delicious in Dungeon was the top profit generator during this period.
First published in 2015, Delicious in Dungeon received an anime adaptation in 2024, which has been highly successful. This success made Delicious in Dungeon the most profitable series for Kadokawa in both TV and Publishing categories (manga, novels, etc.).

As we can see, Delicious in Dungeon is in 1st place in both categories by a good margin. For the first time, Re:Zero has left the Top 10 of both rankings, since the second season has been aired for some time.
In second place as the most profitable series for Kadokawa we have Konosuba, which grossed around 1 billion yen (Delicious in Dungeon reached 2 billion). In third place we had Oshi no Ko. Note that the Oshi no Ko manga does not appear in the ranking, this is because the manga belongs to another company and is not from Kadokawa, so the numbers for Oshi no Ko are from the anime.
Projections for the second quarter
In the same report, Kadokawa expects great numbers for the next quarter, the company cites the third season of Re:Zero, the second season of Oshi no Ko and the Overlord movie as 3 projects that they are very confident will have strong performances.
