The story of Dance of Spring in Agents of the Four Seasons
In Dance of Spring, the world once knew only Winter. To escape loneliness, Winter created Spring. Eventually, the earth needed time to rest and thus Summer and Autumn were born. The balance of these seasons is maintained by the Agents of the Four Seasons. Ten years ago, Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, vanished—taking the season with her. Now, after overcoming countless hardships, she returns to restore the cycle and, as the age-old myth says, send her love to Winter.
The novel series currently includes:
- 2 volumes of Dance of Spring
- 2 volumes of Dance of Summer
- 1 volume of The Archer of Dawn
- 2 volumes of Dance of Autumn
- 1 volume of Tasogare no Ite (Archer of Dusk)
Yen Press has licensed both the novels and manga. The manga, illustrated by Nappa Komatsuda, started serialization in 2022 in LaLa magazine. The fifth volume was released in February 2024.
Additionally, a spin-off manga titled Agents of the Four Seasons: Hundred Songs, Hundred Leaves, by Yuriko Asami, began on Kadocomi in 2023 and has two volumes to date.
Kana Akatsuki also wrote the critically acclaimed Violet Evergarden series, which won the Kyoto Animation Award and inspired a TV anime and two film adaptations.
