Vtuber Had a Product Canceled Due to Her Hentai Past!

Tomoe Tamiyasu is a renowned Japanese voice actress, singer, and Vtuber, widely known for her roles in anime and adult games. While you may not recognize her by name, if you’ve ever watched the hentai anime Overflow, Tamiyasu is the voice behind Ayane Shirakawa. Additionally, she has voiced characters like Rin Natsume in Little Busters and Makina Irisu in Grisaia.

Recently, Tamiyasu faced a professional setback. The voice actress had a project to transform her Vtuber model into plushies that would be sold to her fans. It’s been quite some time since Tomoe decided to become a Vtuber and to work in this segment as well.

Her Vtuber model is super cute:

Unfortunately, the project was canceled due to her connection with the adult anime and eroge industry. The Vtuber took to Twitter to express her feelings and share the notice she received:

“Vtuber Tammy is not related to adult content, but since her soul, Tomoe Tamiyasu, is an eroge voice actress, it was deemed inappropriate.”

What makes the situation even more frustrating is the fact that the project wasn’t rejected from the beginning. After months of meetings and progress in production, the sudden cancellation came as a huge shock to Tamiyasu.

She commented that if the project had been rejected from the start because of her career as an eroge voice actress, she would have understood. However, the last-minute cancellation was particularly painful as she had been very excited about the launch.

Despite this, Tamiyasu stated that she doesn’t hold any grudges for her work in eroges being the reason for the rejection and acknowledges that this happens frequently. Still, the abrupt cancellation of the project was a major disappointment for the artist.

Let’s see some of the reactions:

  • “This kind of thing needs to be locked down with a contract made by a lawyer and insured. She lacked preparation.”
  • “That’s a voice a lot of people have heard before.”
  • “Wouldn’t this also affect narrators, dubbing actors, and anime voice actors?”
  • “Did they just take her money? Seems like it was on purpose.”
  • “Are they also rejecting those who work under pseudonyms? If not, it doesn’t make sense.”
  • “You’re all so obsessed with purity, and yet you say these things?”
  • “If working with eroges is bad, then that famous anime film director and the currently trending voice actress would be in trouble too.”
  • “Doesn’t everyone who works with this kind of content understand the risks from the start?”
  • “Even voice actors from popular national anime have worked in eroges.”
