Japanese family hears strange noises coming from their deceased grandma room
It is not uncommon in horror stories for a house where a deceased person used to live to be haunted. In 2019, a user shared a scary story on X/Twitter.
Japanese family hears strange noises coming from their deceased grandma room
The parents of the user below live or lived in a house that was around 50 years old and used to share it with their grandmother, who passed away shortly afterwards, so there was an empty or almost empty room.
He even had some things like a scary porcelain doll and other stuff.
No one used this room, the user’s parents said they heard sounds coming from it at night. Specifically a shuffling noise, as if someone or something was running around the house while everyone else was lying in bed, but whenever they went to check, there was nothing to be seen… Of course, except the doll in the middle of the night.
The owners of the house had a theory that a zashiki warashi had moved there. Basically it is a yokai and in some popular tales it is said that having one in your home will bring prosperity to the family.
But, there came a time when the noises became so persistent that the owners of the house decided to open the wall where they determined the sounds were coming from and discovered those responsible for the noise:

Three super cute kittens who were mistaken for yokai, luckily for this family, there was no need to call the Ghostbusters, right?
