SPY x FAMILY Cosplay cures Cancer
What would you do to remember a beloved person in your life? @asobiworld decided to take several photos of their grandfather, who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, with his daughter. The two took many photos as Anya and Henry Henderson, characters from the anime SPY x FAMILY.
On Twitter, @asobiworld shared the entire story. The hospital gave their father only one year to live. As a last wish, he expressed his desire to cosplay Henry Henderson, the elegant school director where Anya studies in SPY x FAMILY.
@asobiworld mentioned that even their mother said that the father kept saying “Elegant! Elegant!” on various occasions after watching SPY x FAMILY. However, the cosplay didn’t happen immediately, first due to winter – the cold is quite dangerous for his health – and then his condition worsened.
@asobiworld’s father wanted to stay at home and spent his days lying down with oxygen cylinders. Not wanting to wait any longer, fearing the worst, they decided to do the cosplay anyway, as he could pass away any day.
Taking advantage of a day when he felt better, @asobiworld dressed his father as Henry and his daughter as Anya, and the photos were taken with them lying on the ground:

Plot Twist, SPY x FAMILY Cosplay cures Cancer
Are you ready for the plot twist of this whole story? Recently, @asobiworld’s father went to the hospital for a complete check-up, and his stage 4 cancer, which was supposed to kill him in a year, disappeared. @asobiworld shared images of their father, the first from 2022 showing the cancer:
And then an image from this year showing that the cancer simply vanished. @asobiworld said that the cosplay probably cured their father. Could this be the power of cosplay? Today we discovered that SPY x FAMILY cosplay cures cancer!
Either way, they are now planning the next cosplay. @asobiworld’s story has garnered over 10 million views on Twitter alone.
