Man is convicted of selling products that resemble Kimetsu no Yaiba
The president of an import and sales company was accused of infringing the Law on the Prevention of Competition by selling products resembling Kimetsu no Yaiba.
Many of these products resembled characters from the work. such as Tanjiro Kamado’s green and black checkered haori. There were several types of products that resemble Kimetsu no Yaiba, from masks to coats, all of them with the colors of the characters in the work:

”Both the manga and anime were very successful, so a large number of people would think that they are official Kimetsu no Yaiba products,” the prosecution pointed out during the court case.
The defense said the following: ”It is impossible to recognize Kimetsu no Yaiba just by a pattern printed on something”.
The man was sentenced to 2 years in prison, with a suspended sentence of 5 years, and the payment of a fine of 22,000 dollars, and the company was also ordered to pay a fine of 36,000 dollars.
