Did a Love Live voice actress marry an Indian man?
On December 28, 2024, voice actress Kanako Takatsuki, best known for her role as Hanamaru Kunikida in Love Live Sunshine, announced her marriage to a common man, meaning her husband is not a celebrity.
People congratulated Kanako, and life went on… at least until this week when fans began questioning whether Kanako actually married an Indian man!

There was a post featuring a wedding photo where Kanako was tagged by a profile (which is now offline), congratulating her on her marriage. The photos showed what appeared to be Kanako marrying a (very wealthy) Indian man!
Fans discovered this through the tagged photos section of Kanako’s Instagram (apparently, anyone can tag you in posts). At the time of writing this post, the tag has disappeared because the original profile that posted it has been deleted.
Naturally, reactions have been very mixed. Most Western fans congratulated her on the marriage, but on the other side, many fans had issues with her, as a Japanese woman, choosing an Indian man as her husband. There are also many who believe the situation is fake, and she didn’t marry this Indian man.
But the question remains: is it real? Did this Love Live voice actress really marry an Indian man? Well, until Kanako makes a statement, there’s no way to be 100% absolutely certain, but there are some clues.
For example:
On Kanako’s own Instagram, you can find several photos and videos from over a year ago showing her visiting India. She has been to the country, but we don’t know how much she explored or if she met someone there. This is essentially the only “clue” I’ve found.
