Library Dont want Kids to read Oshi no ko, But Evangelion and Jujutsu are OK
Children’s libraries can be confusing, I think they can’t reach a consensus on certain things. Take today’s case, for example, where this library doesn’t allow kids to read “Oshi no Ko,” but right next to it, we have “Evangelion” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” manga freely available for reading!
Library Dont want Kids to read Oshi no ko, But Evangelion and Jujutsu are OK
Someone on Twitter was at a children’s library in Japan when they noticed that the “Oshi no Ko” manga was available there. “Oshi no Ko” is certainly not a story for children, so when they picked up the manga, they saw a notice on the cover.
This notice warns children that the content in the manga is not for them, but for high school students and above, a good warning indeed.
However, nevertheless, on the very next shelf, the same person saw “Evangelion” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” manga totally accessible for any child to pick up and read:
“Evangelion” is not at all for children, with its heavy psychological themes and many other elements. And “Jujutsu Kaisen” includes violence. It’s curious to know that a notice was placed on “Oshi no Ko” but not on the other manga.
At least, that’s according to the person who visited the library and took the photos. In response to other users, the person who took the photo mentioned that “Death Note” was also available there (as well as “SPY x FAMILY,” but that’s a manga suitable for all ages).
One person was quite surprised to see that “Oshi no Ko” was prohibited for children to read, but “Evangelion” was allowed. And what’s more, according to the post’s author, it’s a children’s library.
