Japanese Reactions to Westerners Using Easy Mode Mod in Armored Core 6
Armored Core VI is the latest game from FromSoftware. If you’ve never heard of them, they’re the developers behind the Dark Souls and Elden Ring series, known for their high difficulty.
And it seems that Armored Core is equally challenging. I’ve seen some people struggling to defeat the first boss, if I’m not mistaken. Some streamers I follow were having a tough time with a helicopter.
Well, it appears that the high difficulty level is frustrating some people to the point where a mod has been created to make the game easier. FromSoftware games usually don’t offer difficulty options, and I’ve seen many players complain about not being able to progress past certain parts.
Japanese Reactions to Westerners Using Easy Mode Mod in Armored Core 6
According to the description of the easy mode mod, it makes the following changes to the game:
- Reduces equipment energy consumption by 50%.
- Reduces equipment weight by 50%.
- Increases total ammunition for all weapons to 300% of the vanilla value.
- Increases mission monetary rewards to 200% of the vanilla value.
- Increases arena mission currency rewards to 200% of the vanilla value.
- Increases the ideal and effective range of weapons to 300% of the vanilla value, reducing the amount of ricochet. This affects enemy ACs.
But how did Japanese players react when they learned that Westerners are using a mod to make the game easier? Let’s take a look at their reaction to the news:
“As long as they don’t use it in versus mode, only in single-player, why not?”
“I think it’s okay, but it hasn’t even been a week since the game was released! I think they should try a little harder, but I guess there are some who just want to finish it quickly and move on to the next game.”
“Man, don’t you feel the same excitement about a story unless it’s overcome at the highest difficulty?”
“I used a mod to avoid taking damage in Elden Ring and play without worries, so I can use a mod like this to play Armored Core 6. Only offline, of course.”
“Gaijin [foreigners] don’t have that AC spirit.”
“Just go play another game!”
“Do PC players suck at games?”
“I guess it’s okay if they only do it offline. But it’s pretty ridiculous.”
“Shouldn’t this be called cheating instead of a mod?”
“They call it a mod, but it’s basically just cheating. Is that fun?”
“It seems like only the older folks are criticizing this.”
“When you look at Armored Core, it seems to offer a lot of freedom. In the end, you can’t do what you want.”
“I’m here to show my envy because I can’t do this on PS5.”
“Are people having fun with this? It’s just crap that relies on a mod.”
“People who are complaining about this are the problem.”
“Go home and suck on Mario’s boobs haha. More suitable for you.”
“Weak players.”
“PC users can stop calling themselves gamers now, haha.”
“You PS boomers are complaining again?”
“Some people do useless things. They don’t need to force themselves to play this game.”
“Aren’t they embarrassed that they can’t beat the game without cheating?”
While some Western players clearly prefer using the mod and playing on easy mode, others like to make things even more challenging, like defeating all the bosses using only their fists.
Let’s see how they reacted to the video above:
“Honestly, I thought it was impossible, but did someone really succeed in the challenge?”
“Haha! They say lovers of FromSoftware games prefer to be naked (no equipment, weight 0). Those who are good at dodging are also good at fistfighting.”
“Oh, wow! I’m laughing so much!”
“If you’re a real man, you should use your fists. It’s amazing!”
“It’s really fun to watch, and it’s satisfying.”
While some Western players clearly prefer the mod and playing on easy mode, others enjoy making things even more challenging, such as defeating all the bosses using only their fists.
