Pokémon TCG show the Passage of Time with creative cards

You know which Pokemon has an official card game right? Called Pokémon TCG, where you buy cards, build your deck and go duel against other trainers.

It is natural for Pokémon cards to have some that stand out for their illustrations, as some sets of cards tell stories of family and friends.

In the Scarlet ex collection, we have a couple that is moving to their new house and they have a Ralts, and the following cards show the passage of time for this family and the Pokémon:

As you can see, in the first card we have the couple moving with their Ralts to the new house, in the next card, when Ralts has evolved into Kirlia, the woman is holding her baby, in the last card, the couple is already more old, after years of raising the child, and Kirlia is now a Gardevoir.

More Pokémon Cards Show the Passage of Time

As mentioned, this isn’t the first time Pokemon has done something like this, there’s a collection of Tepig cards and their evolutions that show the passage of time for their family:

And one more example below, where we have a series of letters from Charmander’s family, in the first letter he is playing with the young boy:

In his letter as Charmeleon he is already with the older boy, maybe studying? And in the last letter as a Charizard, the two already adults are exploring a very cold place.

These types of letters that tell family stories always end up breaking me, but I wasn’t the only one who got that way because of the letters, the Japanese also found it cute:

“I don’t play Pokémon but I want these cards”
