Did you know that the Monster Energy Drink sued Pokémon for using the word Monster in “Pocket Monsters”? And that they also went after Monster Hunter? Capcom game series?
The Monster drink is manufactured by Monster Beverage and they are very connected to games as they sponsor events, streamers etc, but they have already gone after several franchises that use the same word such as Pokémon and Monster Hunter.
Monster Energy Drink Sued Pokémon for using the word Monster in “Pocket Monsters”
According to the J-PlatPlat platform, Monster has at least 134 complaints against other companies that used the word “Monsters”, the beverage brand has already gone after Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Sun and Moon by the name “Pocket Monster”, as well as going after Capcom for their Monster Hunter series.
The drinks brand’s claim regarding Pokémon was that “consumers could mistake the games as being a product of the Monster Energy family”, the same argument with Monster Hunter, both attempts failed.
And now more recently they’ve filed a lawsuit against the horror game Dark Deception: Monsters and Mortals, again, just because of the name “Monsters” in the game’s title:
Vincent Livings who is the creator of Dark Deception: Monsters and Mortals published in his profile that Monster is known for being a troll in the matter of trademarks and that again they are behind a company to apply their usual bullying and try to bankrupt companies of games. He promises to fight in court against the beverage brand.
2. Monster Energy's lawyers are coming after us right now, because @MonstersMortals has the word "Monsters" in it. They claim that our game is confusingly similar to their energy drink. Yep, that's really their claim. Rather than roll over, I'm going to fight them in court.

They also went after the mobile game ”Monster Strike”:
Is there anyone on this earth who would confuse booze with Pokémon? At least in the cases that we were able to check, at least in Japan in the cases that Monster tried to sue others they were unsuccessful, let it continue like this.
